1 Functional Overview
Reason Switches are managed layer 2 switches designed for harsh environments
applications, such as commonly observed on power systems and industry
applications, and they were developed to be used in IEC 61850 networks, for reliable
Ethernet connection between IEDs in the network.
1.1 Highlights
The reported values are user-selectable of the list below.
T1000 Switch:
o Up to 6 modules of 2 interfaces each;
o Copper interface modules with RJ45 (Cat5e) connectors for
10/100/1000BASE-TX with auto-negotiation and automatic
treatment of polarity inversion (HP Auto-MDIX);
o Optic interface modules with ST connectors (100BASE-FX,
multimode fibre) or LC (100/1000BASE-FX, single-mode fibre);
o Special optic interface module to form connection of 2.5 Gbps with
2 ports and an LC connector (single mode fibre).
S2020 Switch
o Up to 5 modules of 4 interfaces each;
o Up to 1 module with Gigabit speed (cooper or optic interface);
o Up to 5 modules with Fast Ethernet speed (cooper of optic
interface);
