● The server and its internal components are properly installed.
● Ground cables are available and placed near the server.

No data preparation is required for this operation.
Tools
● Phillips screwdriver: used to tighten screws.
● ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves: used to prevent ESD damage.
Hardware
A ground cable has OT terminals at both ends and its cross-sectional area is 25
mm² (0.04 in.²), as shown in Figure 3-9.
● The devices in a cabinet, such as the power distribution box (PDB) and chassis, use the
same type of ground cables.
● The resistance between the chassis and the earth must be less than 5 ohms.

Procedure
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves.
Step 2 Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw in the ground point on the rear of
the server, and connect one end of the ground cable to the removed screw. Install
the screw in the ground point, and tighten the screw.
