Step 1540-4
1. Turn off the power.
2. Disconnect the ac power cable from the system rack.
3. Reconnect the cards in the following list one at a time. After each card is
reconnected, continue in this step. Continue to reconnect the cards in the list until
you have reconnected all the cards in the list.
a. Memory quad B at M08, M09, M10, and M11, if previously present.
b. Memory quad C at M12, M13, M14, and M15, if previously present.
c. Memory quad D at M20, M21, M22, and M23, if previously present.
d. Processor card at M18, if previously present.
e. Processor card at M06, if previously present.
f. Processor card at M16, if previously present.
4. Reconnect the ac power cable to the system rack.
5. Turn on the power.
6. When the keyboard indicator is displayed (the word Keyboard), press the 5 key on
the system console.
7. Enter the appropriate password when you are prompted to do so.
Is the Please Define the System Console screen displayed?
No The card you just reconnected is defective, replace with new card. To verify
any cards that remain disconnected, go to Step 1540-5 and continue.
Yes Go to Step 1540-5.
Step 1540-5
Have all cards in the list in step Step 1540-4 been replaced with new or original
cards:
No Go to Step 1540-4.
Yes Go to Step 1540-8 on page 121 to verify the I/O portion of the system.
Step 1540-6
1. Turn off the power.
2. Disconnect the ac power cable from the system rack.
3. Replace the processor card at M05 with a new processor card.
4. Connect the ac power cord to the system rack and turn on the power.
Is the Please Define the System Console screen displayed?
No Go to Step 1540-7 on page 121.
Yes The processor card that you replaced is failing, replace the processor card. Go
to Step 1540-5.
