Look at the rear of the system rack, and locate the JTAG cable (connected to the rear
of the system rack card position M19).
Follow the JTAG cable back to the service processor card located in the primary I/O
drawer (PCI slot 8).
Are there any secondary I/O drawers attached to the system rack?
No Go to Step 1540-40 on page 133.
Yes Go to Step 1540-10.
Step 1540-10
At least one secondary I/O drawer is attached to the system rack. Isolate the primary
I/O drawer by performing the following steps:
Note: Before continuing, check the cabling from the system rack to I/O drawer(s) to
ensure that the system is cabled correctly. Refer to Cabling the System Rack
and I/O Rack on page 31 for valid configurations. Record the current cabling
configuration and then continue with the following steps.
1. Turn the system power off.
2. At the system rack, swap cable connections at RIO port 0 and RIO port 1. The
cable end that was connected to RIO port 1 should now be connected to RIO port
0.
3. At the primary I/O drawer, remove the cable connected to RIO port 1. Move the
cable connected to RIO port 0 to RIO port 1.
4. From the system rack RIO port 0, follow the cable connected there to a secondary
I/O drawer RIO port 1. Move the cable connection at this secondary I/O drawer
RIO port 1 to the primary I/O drawer RIO port 0.
5. Verify that primary I/O drawer RIO port 0 is connected to system rack RIO port 0.
6. Verify that primary I/O drawer RIO port 1 is connected to system rack RIO port 1.
7. Verify that the primary I/O drawer SPCN port 1 is connected to system rack SPCN
port 0.
8. Connect primary I/O drawer SPCN port 2 to system rack SPCN port 1.
Note: The primary I/O drawer should be cabled as shown in Cabling the System
Rack and I/O Rack on page 31 for System rack Attached to one I/O
drawer Be sure to examine both RIO cables and SPCN cables.
9. Disconnect ac power cables from remaining I/O drawer(s).
Attention: The I/O rack you are working on may have I/O drawers which are
connected to other system racks or other third party drawers attached to the power
distribution bus. To avoid removing power from drawers which are used by other
systems, when you are instructed to unplug power from an I/O drawer, remove
only the power distribution unit (PDU) side of the single ac cables connected to the
I/O drawer in question.
