Software ship group
The TS7650 Appliance software ship group includes the following disks:
IBM System Storage ProtecTIER Appliance Edition V3.1.8 DVD
This disk contains the software for the appliance server that runs on the
Red Hat Linux operating system installed on the server. The server uses
the software to present the attached disk storage to host systems and to
perform other functions such as data de-duplication. If system recovery
becomes necessary, use this disk to reinstall ProtecTIER on the affected
3958 AP1 servers.
IBM System Storage ProtecTIER Manager V3.1.8 DVD
This disk contains the files required to install ProtecTIER Manager, the
graphical user interface (GUI) of the ProtecTIER software, on workstations
connected to the TS7650 Appliance through an Ethernet network at the
customer site, or on the TSSC. ProtecTIER Manager allows the user to
manage the virtual tape presented to host systems by the server.
IBM System Storage ProtecTIER Maintenance and Recovery Disk
The recovery disk contains the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced
Platform, version 5.6 (version x86_64 or EM64T) operating system software,
with the ProtecTIER Kickstart configuration file (ks.cfg). If system recovery
becomes necessary, use this disk to reinstall Red Hat Linux on the affected
3958 AP1 servers.
