Installing a Power Supply in a QFX5200
Before you install a power supply in a QFX5200, ensure that you have taken the necessary
precauons to prevent electrostac discharge (ESD) damage (see "Prevenon of Electrostac
Discharge Damage" on page 194).
Ensure that the airow direcon of the power supply is the same as the chassis. Labels on the power
supply handle indicate the direcon of airow. See "QFX5200 Cooling System" on page 29 for more
informaon.
The QFX5200 is shipped from the factory with two power supplies. Each power supply is a hot-
removable and hot-insertable eld-replaceable unit (FRU) when the second power supply is installed and
running. You can install replacement power supplies in the two slots next to the fan modules without
powering o the switch or disrupng the switching funcon.
