mechanical tappets
Thecheckoftheadvanceonengineswithmechanicaltappets
iscarriedoutusingthesameprocedureasthatdescribedforthe
hydraulictappets;the only differenceis in thedisassembly and
reassemblyoftherocker-armpinandofthepushrodswhichis
notnecessary.

Injection timing correction by changing the pad thickness
Should it be necessary to correct the injection static advance,
removetheinjectionpumpfromtheengineblockandreplacepad
Binsidetheinjectiontappetswithoneofadifferentthickness(to
extractpadBuseamagnetC).
Itsvalueisprintedonthelowerpartofthepad.
Twelve spare pads aresuppliedforthe advance variations and
theirthicknesscanvaryfrom4to5.1mm.
ThegasketA,betweentheinjectionpumpangeandtheengine
block,isonlyone,withtheonlytaskofpreventinganypossible
oilleaks.
Previously, to vary the injection advance, gaskets of different
thicknesseswereusedbetweentheinjectionpumpsurfaceand
theengineblocksurface(ineffect,gasketA withoutsealingrubber
border).
