16 SERVICE WORK ON THE ENGINE

Remove screws

– Take off the oil pump.

Pull off oil line

from the carburetor.

Turn oil pump gear wheel

counterclockwise until oil flows
out of oil line

without bubbles.

Connect oil line

– Position the oil pump.
–
Mount and tighten screws

Guideline
Screw, oil pump M5 6 Nm (4.4 lbf ft)
16.3 Checking the gear oil level
Condition
The engine is cold.
Preparatory work
– Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.

Remove screw

Check the gear oil level.
A small quantity of gear oil must run out of the drilled
hole.
» If no gear oil runs out:
– Add the gear oil. ( p. 112)

Mount and tighten screw
