Drivingthevehicle
Observethefollowingprecautionswhendrivingthe
tractor:
•
Watchwhereyouaregoingatalltimes,especiallyat
rowends,onroads,andaroundtrees.
•
Usethehazardwarninglights,roadlights(lowbeam),
andSMV(slowmovingvehicle)signwhentravellingon
publicroads,dayornight.
•
DONOTpermitanyonebuttheoperatortorideonthe
tractor.
•
Lockthebrakepedalstogetherwhentravellingonpub-
licroads.
•
MakesurethePTOswitchisinthe"OFF"position.
•
Keepthetractoringearwhengoingdownhill.Usea
lowgeartomaintaincontrolwithminimumbraking.
•
Ifthetractorbecomesstuck,backouttopreventupset-
tingtheunit.
•
Alwaysusethedrawbarforpull-typework.Donotpull
fromanyotherpartofthetractor,sinceitmaytipback-
ward.
NOTICE:Whentransportingonthehighway,asafety
chainwithtensilestrengthequaltothegrossweightof
theimplementshouldbeconnectedbetweenthetractor
andthetowedimplement.Thiswillcontroltheimplement
intheeventthehitchpinislost.Afterattachingthesafety
chain,checkitsadjustmentbydrivingthetractortothe
rightandtotheleftforashortdistance.Readjustto
tightenorloosenthechainasnecessary.Safetychains
andsuitablehardwareareavailablefromyourNEW
HOLLANDDealer.
NOTE:Procureattachinghardwarelocally.Checkim-
plementassemblyortheOperator'sManualforattach-
inghardwarespecications,suchasboltsizeandgrade,
chainstrength,washers,lockwashers,nuts,etc.
•
Engagetheclutchslowlywhendrivingoutofaditch,
gully,orupasteephillside.Immediatelydisengagethe
clutchifthefrontwheelsshouldriseofftheground.
•
Reducespeedbeforeturningquicklyorapplying
brakes.
•
Tomakeanemergencystop,depressbothbrakeped-
alsandtheclutchpedal(gearmodelonly)simultane-
ously
NOTE:Whenmakinganemergencystopwhileoper-
atingaHSTmodeltractordepressbothbrakepedals
andreleasetheforwardorreverseHSTpedal.
•
Neverapplythedifferentiallockwhenturning.
•
Useextremecautionandavoidhardapplicationsofthe
tractorbrakeswhenpullingheavy,towedloadsatroad
speeds.
•
Anytowedvehiclewithatotalweightexceedingthatof
thetowingtractorshouldbeequippedwithbrakesfor
safeoperation.
•
Alwayssitinthedriver'sseatwhilestartingordriving
thetractor.
•
Alwayscheckoverheadclearance,especiallywhen
transportingthetractor.
