4-OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
Hydrostatictransmission(HST)operation
Thegroundspeedoftractorsequippedwithahydrostatic
transmissioniscontinuouslyvariable,fromzerotofull
ratedspeedineachrange.Speediscontrolledbythe
HSTforward(1)andreverse(2)pedalslocatedonthe
right-handoperatorsplatform.

TooperatetheHSTtransmission,carryoutthefollowing:
1.StarttheengineandpulltheHPLcontrollever(1)rear-
wardtolifttheimplementofftheground(ifequipped).
2.Movethehandthrottlelever(2)forwarduntiltheen-
ginespeedisabove1500RPM.
3.Placetherangegearshiftlever(3)inthedesired
range.
4.Depressthebrakepedals(4)anddisengagethepark
brakelever(5).
5.Forforwardtravel,depresstheforwardpedal(6)un-
tilthedesiredgroundspeedisreached.Forreverse
travel,depresstherearpedal(7).Thetransmission
returnstoneutralandthetractorstopswhenthepedal
isreleased.
NOTE:DepresstheHSTpedalsslowly,fastmove-
mentofthepedalswillcausethetractortomovesud-
denly.
NOTE:Tochangetherangespeed,releasetheHST
pedalsandbringthetractortoastopandselectthe
desiredrange.
