Thefrequencyofthesonardeterminesthewidthofthesonar
beam,thedepthtowhichthesignalswillpenetrateandthe
resolutionoftheimage
Thefrequenciessupporteddependuponthesonarmoduleand
transducerinuseonyoursystem:
•Lowerfrequenciesproduceawidersonarbeamandpenetrate
thewaterwell.Alowerfrequencyprovidesalowerresolution
imagethatmaynotbeasgoodatdetectingsmallsh.Use
lowerfrequenciesifyourequirealargecoveragebeneath
yourvesselorifyouareindeepwater.
•Higherfrequenciesproducenarrowerbeamandproducea
highresolutionimage.Theyaremostusefulinshallower
water(upto1000ft)andathigherspeeds.
Theoptionsavailable(dependantuponconnectedsonarmodule
andtransducer)are:
•Auto.Whenoperatinginautomaticthesystemwillselectthe
frequencyautomaticallytosuityourtransducerandoperating
conditions.
