Riser cards are used as bus boards for SIMATIC IPC647C. These riser cards are used to a
create spatial offset for connections between the motherboard and the expansion modules.
The riser card is used as an elbow. This positions the bus board vertical and expansion
modules parallel to the motherboard. The edge-socket connectors for expansion modules
are located on the bus board. The riser card also provides power to the motherboard.
