AIR CLEANER
Carefully read page 63
(MAINTENANCE).
The air cleaner should be cleaned and
checked once a month or every 2500 mi
(4000 Km), depending on use.
If the vehicle is used on wet or dusty roads,
the cleaning/replacement should be done
more frequently.
The filtering element must be removed
from the vehicle for cleaning.
REMOVAL
◆ Position the vehicle on its centre stand.
◆ Remove the rear cover, see page 80
(REMOVING THE REAR COVER).
◆ Loosen and remove the six screws (1).
◆ Turn the filtering element (2).
CLEANING
◆ Remove the grid (4) from its mount (5).
◆ Remove the filtering element (6).
WARNING
Do not wash the filter with petrol or
other flammable solvents –
explosion/fire hazard.
◆ Wash the filtering element (6) with clean,
non-flammable solvent, or with solvent
with a high flash point, and dry it off
carefully and completely.
◆ Apply a filter-specific oil over the entire
surface.
