CHECKING THE STEERING
Carefully read page 63
(MAINTENANCE).
Check the steering slack from time to time.
Proceed as follows:
" Place the vehicle on its centre stand.
NOTE Provide a support 7.29 in (185
mm) high with base 7.87 x 7.87 in. (200 x
200 mm)
" Place the support under the vehicle with
a spongy cloth over it, in such as way as
to allow the front wheel to turn freely
while the vehicle is secure against falling
over.
WARNING
Make sure the vehicle is stable.
" Rock the forks in the drive direction.
NOTE Rocking the fork too powerfully
can move the stand, thus exaggerating the
steering slack.
Repeat the above operation several times.
" If considerable slack is evident, contact
an aprilia Official Dealer, to have the
problem fixed.
CHECKING
THE ENGINE FULCRUM AXLE
Carefully read page 63
(MAINTENANCE).
Periodically check the slack between the
engine pin bushings and the axle itself.
Proceed as follows:
" Place the vehicle on its centre stand.
" Rock the wheel sideways.
" If there is any slack, contact an aprilia
Official Dealer to have the problem fixed.
