AIR CLEANER
Carefully read page 63 (MAINTENANCE).
The air cleaner should be cleaned and
checked every month or every 3750 mi
(6000 Km), depending on use.
If the vehicle is used on wet or dusty roads,
the cleaning/replacement should be done
more frequently.
The filtering element must be removed
from the vehicle for cleaning.
REMOVAL
◆ Position the vehicle on its centre stand.
◆ Remove the rear fairing, see page 80
(REMOVING THE REAR COVER).
◆ Unscrew the four screws (1) and remove
the airbox cover (2).
◆ Remove the filtering element (3).
CAUTION
Check that the filtering element (3),
airbox cover (2) and gasket (4) are
correctly positioned when refitting.
CLEANING
WARNING
Do not wash the filter with petrol or
other flammable solvents –
explosion/fire hazard.
◆ Wash the filtering element (3) with clean,
non-flammable solvent, or with solvent
with a high flash point, and dry it off
carefully and completely.
◆ Apply a filter-specific oil over the entire
surface.
