You can manually select the AF point or zone.

Press the <S> or <B> button
( 9 ).
 The AF points will be displayed in the
viewfinder.
 In the Zone AF mode or Large Zone
AF mode, the selected zone will be
displayed.

Select an AF point.
 The AF point selection will change in
the direction you tilt <
9 >. If you
press <
0 >, the center AF point (or
center zone) will be selected.
 You can also select an AF point by
shifting horizontally with the <
6 >
dial or vertically with the <
5 > dial.
 In the Zone AF mode, turning the
<
6 > or < 5 > dial will change the
zone in a looping sequence.

 When you hold down the <Q> button and turn the <6> dial, you can
select an AF point by shifting vertically.
 When [8C.Fn II-11: Initial AFpt, o AI Servo AF] is set to [1: Initial
o AF pt selected] (p.422), you can use this method to manually select
the AI Servo’s AF initial position.
 When you press the <S> or <B> button, the LCD panel displays the
following:
• Zone AF, Large Zone AF, and 45-point automatic selection AF: M AF
• 1 pt AF: SEL N (Center)/SEL AF (Off-center)
