3.Engine turning
(1)Install two bolts (M12x1.25)in the flywheel
bolt holes in the crankshaft.
(2)Put a bar between the bolts and turn the
crankshaft to bring No.1 piston to the top
center as shown in the illustration.
4.Fuel injection pump camshaft installation
(1)Put the camshaft(with bearing and gear)
in position in the cylinder block.
(2)Hit the gear with a plastic hammer to fit
the bearing in position.
(3)Make sure the camshaft rotates freely.
(4)Tighten the stopper bolt.
5.Camshaft installation
(1)Lubricate the lobes and journals with
engine oil.
(2)Put the camshaft(with gear)in position in
the cylinder block.
Do not cause damage to the lobes and
journals when the camshaft is installed.
(3)Tighten the bolts that hold the thrust plate
to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
(4)Make sure the camshaft rotates freely.
Check the end play for the camshaft.
1.1 0.1 kgf•m
(8 0.7 lbf•ft)
