Ethernet standards
The Model 6221 conforms to these standards:
•TCP/IP
• IEEE-802.3
• SCPI 1996.0 (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments)
Typical Ethernet systems
The four typical Ethernet systems using a Model 6221 are shown in Figures 10-5
through 10-8. The simplest system connects a Model 6221 directly to a PC
equipped with a NIC (Network Interface Card) as shown in Figure 10-5. The
Ethernet cable can be up to 100 meters in length. Note that a cross-over cable
must be used for a direct PC connection.
