PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN WORKING
58
2.4.7 WORKING ON SLOPES
q
Operations on slopes and on river or lake banks with damp
ground may cause the machine to tip over or slip.
q
When working on slopes (max. inclination 10°), avoid turning
the turret, if possible, since this may cause the machine to lose
balance and overturn.
It is particularly dangerous to swing the equipment on slopes
when the bucket is full.
If these operations are going to last long, accumulate soil in
such a way as to create a horizontal platform on which the ma-
chine can be positioned.
2.4.8 UNAUTHORIZED OPERATIONS
If the machine turns over or falls, or the ground at the working point collapses, it may lead to serious personal inju-
ry or death. Always observe the following.
q
Never dig the work face under an overhang. There is a hazard
that rocks may fall or that the overhang may collapse and fall on
top of the machine.
q
Do not carry out demolition work under the machine. The
ground under the machine may collapse and cause the ma-
chine to fall.
q
To make it easier to escape if there is any problem, set the
tracks at right angles to the road shoulder or cliff with the
sprocket at the rear when carrying out operations.
