2.8.16 PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN
HANDLING THE BATTERY AND THE
ALTERNATOR
q
When the electrical system is being repaired or when electric
welds are made, turn the battery main switch to OFF (O) to in-
terrupt the current (see "3.2.2 pos: 10. Battery main switch").
q
If electric welds are necessary for the machine, besides discon-
necting the battery, disconnect the alternator and the KOMT-
RAX system control unit.
2.8.17 PRECAUTIONS CONCERNING THE
STARTER
q
Start the engine only when correctly seated in the driving posi-
tion.
q
Do not start the engine by tampering with the terminals of the
starter, since the machine may move.
q
Sudden or accidental movements of the machine may cause
serious injury or even death.
2.8.18 HANDLING HIGH-PRESSURE HOSES
q
Do not bend high-pressure hoses or rub them with abrasive or cutting objects.
Do not use any bent or cracked pipes or hoses that were previously rejected because of leaks or fastening de-
fects, since they may burst during use.
q
Always repair or replace any loose or faulty fuel or oil pipe. Any leakage of fuel or oil may cause fires.
