3.2.2 SWITCHES AND PUSH BUTTONS

1. Ignition switch
This is a four-position rotary switch and is used to switch the en-
gine on and off.

Position OFF
When the switch is in this position, the ignition key can be in-
serted and removed. When the key is turned to this position, the
power supply to the electric circuit is interrupted and the engine
stops.

Position ON
The load and light circuits are under voltage. Keep the key in
this position when the engine is on.

Position START
This is the ignition position. Keep the key in this position to make the starter run. As soon as the engine starts,
release the key, which will automatically return to position ON.

Position HEAT (preheating)
When starting the engine in cold weather, turn the key to position HEAT for approximately 10 seconds, until the
