7.14Stopping, parking
Warning
Danger of burns Some vehicle components become very hot when the vehicle is operated.
– Do not touch hot components such as exhaust system, radiator, engine, shock absorber and brakes. Allow these components to
cool down before starting work on them.
Note
Danger of damage Danger of damage from accidental rolling of vehicle.
– Park the vehicle on a surface that is as horizontal as possible and apply the parking brakes.
Note
Fire hazard Some vehicle components become very hot when the vehicle is operated.
– Do not park the vehicle near flammable or explosive substances. Do not place objects on the vehicle while it is still warm from being
run. Always let the vehicle cool first.

– Stop the vehicle and park it on a surface that is as horizontal as possible.
– Shift gear to neutral.
– Switch off the engine. ( p. 41)
– Pull the clip off of the emergency OFF switch.
– Pull the hand brake lever, push the locking pawl 2 down and release the hand brake
lever. (Figure 301776-10 p. 20)
The front wheels are blocked.
– Turn handle 1 of the fuel tap to the OFF position. (Figure 301779-10 p. 24)
No more fuel flows from the tank to the carburetor.
– If the vehicle must be parked on an incline, additionally secure the rear wheels against
rolling (see illustration).
