BRI Port
• By default, the Orientation Type of the BRI port is ‘Terminal’.
• If the BRI Port is connected to a public network, the orientation type of the BRI
port should be changed to ‘Terminal’.
• By default, the BRI Switch variant for the BRI port is ‘ETSI NET 3’. Ask your
exchange about the BRI switch variant supported by it.
• Go to ‘BRI Parameters’ under the link ‘BRI Configuration’, to change the
attributes of the BRI Port.
• To connect the BRI port for private networking, the orientation type may be set
as Network/Terminal depending on the private network scenario. Select the BRI
Switch Variant which is supported by both PBXs.
• When connecting ISDN Terminals with the BRI Port, the orientation type of BRI
port should be set as ‘Network’. Check the BRI Switch Variant supported by the
BRI port and the ISDN terminals; choose the common switch variants
supported by them.
• Each BRI Port is assigned the following templates in the default configuration:
• Trunk Feature Template-01
• Station Basic Feature Template -01
• Station Advanced Feature Template -01
• The assigned templates can be changed or customized as required.
Layer 1 Mode:
• This parameter is applicable for BRI port, when orientation type is 'Terminal'.
• The Public ISDN provides different types of lines in different countries as
mentioned below:
• On Demand
• Always ON
• Select the 'Layer 1 Mode' parameter, depending upon the type of line,
terminated on the BRI Port of ETERNITY.
• By default, the Layer-1 Mode for all BRI-TE is 'Always ON'.
