14.3. Preparing the transmitter
The following steps must be carried out in order to pre-
pare the transmitter for the new model:
Setting up a model memory Î 14.3.1.
Setting the stick mode Î 14.3.2.
Familiarising yourself with the transmitter controls
(switches / sliders) Î 14.3.3.
Determining the idle setting for spoiler / throttle
Î 14.3.4.
Setting up Throttle Check Î 14.3.5.
14.3.1. Setting up a new model memory for the
GLIDER model type
Menu: (
MEMO) NEW
Moving to the NEW menu:
4 to MENU, r (SETUP appears)
3 to MEMO, r (GO TO appears)
3 to NEW, r
The last used model type appears as the default.
43 Select the GLIDER. model type
r Confirm the model type. This takes you automatically
to the IN MEM menu:
43 Select the memory
Only vacant memories are offered.
Press the 3-D digi-adjustor briefly r to confirm your
chosen memory. This takes you to the menu for enter-
ing the model name.
Note: interrupting (no new model)
A long press ª concludes the process and returns you
to the INFO 1 display.
A further brief press r on the 3-D digi-adjustor activates
input mode. The first character flashes.
The default model name is GLIDER, but you can
change this to anything you like.
Changing the model name
Use the 3-D digi-adjustor to search for the first charac-
ter. The following characters are available:
0 to 9, :, /, <, -, >, ?, space, A to Z
Press the 3-D digi-adjustor again briefly r.
The second character now flashes, and can be se-
lected in the same way.
Repeat this procedure until you have entered all six
characters. Press the 3-D digi-adjustor brieflyr after the
sixth character to complete the name input process.
Note: interrupting the name input process
If the model name has less than six characters, you
can interrupt the process with a long press ª on the 3-
D digi-adjustor. This returns you to the INFO 1 display.
The new model is now stored in the memory, and you
are returned to the “NAME” menu. You can move on to
other menus via “EXIT”; alternatively a long press ª
takes you directly to the INFO 1 display.
14.3.2. Setting the stick mode
(which stick controls which function?)
Menu: (
SETUP, MODEL) MODE
The stick mode determines which transmitter controls
operate the functions aileron, elevator, rudder, throttle
and spoiler. Eight modes are available.
In modes 1 to 4 THROTTLE is assigned to a stick, and
SPOILER is on the right-hand slider. In modes 5 to 8
the assignment for aileron / elevator / rudder is the
same, but SPOILER and THROTTLE are swapped
over, i.e. SPOILER is controlled using the stick.
Study the table to locate the stick mode you wish to
use, then set the appropriate mode.

Moving to the “MODE” menu:
4 to MENU, r (SETUP appears),
r (MODEL appears),
r (MODE appears), r
The current stick mode flashes. Use the 3-D digi-
adjustor to set your preferred mode.
A brief press r on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The value is stored.
