14.11.2. Fixed value for FLAP
(Speed, Thermal or Launch setting)
Menu: (
MIXER) FIX F
This function is used to move your model’s camber-
changing flaps (inboard flaps) to a fixed position. The
left-hand FLAP slider then has no effect. The left-hand
slider is only effective if you set FIX F to 0%.
Moving to the FIX F menu:
4 to MENU, r (SETUP appears),
3 to MIXER, r (GAS>S4 appears, e.g.),
3 to FIX F, r
The current percentage figure flashes. You can now
use the 3-D digi-adjustor to set the value within the
range -100% to 100% in 1% increments.
A brief press r on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The value is stored.
Note: FIX F is flight phase-specific
If flight phases have been activated, you can switch
between three positions for the inboard and outboard
flaps using the PH switch (Î 14.10.).
14.11.3. Using servo 4
Menu: (
MIXER) TH >S4
When you set up a new model, the THROTTLE signal
is passed to servo 4. However, you can also control
servo 4 using the transmitter controls A, E, R, SP or F,
or with the PH switch.
Please refer to the following sections for information on
how to assign and use servo 4:
• servo 4 for THROTTLE Î Example 1
• servo 4 as aero-tow release Î Example 2
• servo 4 as spoiler (airbrake) Î Example 3
• controlling servo 4 with the PH switch Î Example 4
Example 1: servo 4 for throttle
The THROTTLE function is assigned automatically to
servo 4 when you set up a new model. If this is what
you want, it is not necessary to change anything in this
menu. The transmitter control for THROTTLE is as
follows:
the throttle stick modes 1 to 4
the right-hand slider modes 5 to 8
Note: idle trim
The trim button adjacent to the THROTTLE / SPOILER
stick is always used for throttle idle trim, even if the
right-hand slider is used to control throttle, as in modes
5 to 8.
Moving to the TH >S4 menu:
4 to MENU, r (SETUP appears),
3 to MIXER, r
TH flashes on the screen. If you have already changed
the assignment, AI, EL, SP, F or PH will also be flash-
ing. Use the 3-D digi-adjustor to select the desired
function for servo 4.
A brief press r on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The flashing ceases, and the selected as-
signment is stored.
Example 2: servo 4 as tow-release servo
If you wish to use servo 4 as the tow-release servo we
recommend the following procedure:
• Assign servo 4 as Throttle (Î 14.9.1.)
• Move the throttle control (right-hand slider) to full-
throttle (tow release closed)
If the tow release is closed in this position, you need
to reverse servo 4 (SERVO REV).
• Open the coupling using the TH-CUT button.
With this configuration the tow-release can be opened
conveniently using the TH-CUT button (emergency
throttle OFF), which is easy to reach.
Set the end-points for servo 4 for both sides of centre
in the SERVO TRAVEL menu.
Example 3: servo 4 as spoiler (airbrake) servo
If your four-flap model also features conventional air-
brakes for “braking”, they can be operated with servo 4.
The transmitter control SPOILER is used as the signal
source. This may be the stick or the right-hand slider,
depending on your preferred stick mode.
Moving to the TH >S4 menu:
4 to MENU, r (SETUP appears),
3 to MIXER, r r
GAS flashes on the screen (or A, E, SP, F or PH). Use
the 3-D digi-adjustor to select SP as signal source for
servo 4.
A brief press r on the 3-D digi-adjustor concludes the
process. The flashing ceases, and the selected as-
signment is stored.
Example 4: controlling servo 4 with the PH switch
AUX 2
(e.g. speed controller)
If you program a model without flight phases, the PH /
AUX 2 switch can also be used to control servo 4.
