Installation
4 Installation
This chapter describes all necessary steps to install the product at the installation site before
its rst use.
4.1 Safety notes for installation
An improper installation of the electrosurgical generator and its equipment compromises the
safety. To avoid injuries and equipment damage observe the instructions for installation in
the following sections.
4.2 General inspection
Before installing and connecting, inspect the electrosurgical generator and its equipment.
Check that the electrosurgical generator, its equipment and all accessories do not have:
any dents, cracks, kinks, or deformations
any deep scratches
any corrosion
any missing or loose parts
Check all markings on the electrosurgical generator, its equipment and all accessories
for clear visibility.
4.3 Placement of the electrosurgical generator
General requirements for correct placement
To prevent malfunction or damage of the electrosurgical generator and its accessories,
consider the following circumstances when placing the electrosurgical generator:
Place the electrosurgical generator on a stable, level surface.
Put the electrosurgical generator upright onto its feet. Do not install the electrosurgical
generator on its side or upside down.
If the electrosurgical generator is placed on a trolley, the trolley must be of adequate
strength and size to hold the electrosurgical generator securely.
The compatible trolley for the ESG-410 is the Energy Cart TC-E410.
Make sure that there is sufcient space at the back and at the sides of the
electrosurgical generator. This allows air circulation at the ventilation slots.
Only use the electrosurgical generator in compliance with the environmental conditions
as specied in the chapter “16 Technical data” on page 99.
When lifting up, grip the electrosurgical generator at its sides with both hands. Do not
hold the electrosurgical generator at its fuse holder.
Electromagnetic considerations
Make sure that the electrosurgical generator is not used adjacent to or stacked with
equipment that is not part of this electrosurgical generator or system.
Thoroughly conrm the compatibility of all equipment.
Do not use the electrosurgical generator in conjunction with:
Electrical equipment for which the safety against leakage current is not conrmed.
Electrosurgical equipment for which the safety in combined use is not conrmed.
Do not loop cables.
Do not bundle cables together with cables belonging to other medical equipment.
Follow the instructions regarding electromagnetic ambient conditions given in the
chapter “18 Electromagnetic compatibility” on page 133.
