13 Storage and disposal
This chapter provides information on the following:
‒ Storage of the electrosurgical generator
‒ Disposal of the electrosurgical generator
13.1 Storage
To prevent damage of the electrosurgical generator and the foot switch during storage,
observe the following:
‒ Place the electrosurgical generator and the foot switch on a stable, level surface.
‒ Store the electrosurgical generator and the foot switch according to the environmental
conditions described in the chapter “17 Technical data” on page 69.
‒ Do not store the electrosurgical generator and the foot switch in a location that is
exposed to direct sunlight, x-rays, radioactivity or liquids.
‒ Do not store the electrosurgical generator and the foot switch in a location that is
exposed to strong electromagnetic radiation, e.g. microwave medical treatment
equipment, shortwave medical treatment equipment, magnetic resonance imaging
equipment, radio or mobile phones.
‒ Do not subject the electrosurgical generator and the foot switch to strong impacts during
storage.
13.2 Disposal
When disposing of the product or any of its components, follow all applicable national and
local laws and guidelines. To prevent environmental contamination, reprocess the product
before disposal.
Waste electrical and electronic equipment
In accordance with European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment
(WEEE), the product must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste, but should be
collected separately.
