Safe use of neutral electrodes
1. Lift the locking lever of the connecting cable.
2. Position the tab of the neutral electrode evenly between the clamp jaws of the
connecting cable.
3. Completely push down the locking lever to lock the clamp.
4. Insert the plug of the connecting cable into the neutral electrode socket on the front
panel of the electrosurgical generator.
6.7 CQM indicator verication
Verifying CQM when using a split type neutral electrode
● After attaching a neutral electrode to the patient, check the CQM indicator. The split type
indicator must be green. Refer to the section “6.1 Split type and non-split type neutral
electrodes and CQM” on page 44.
Verifying CQM when using a non‑split type neutral electrode
● After attaching a neutral electrode to the patient, check the CQM indicator. The non-split
type indicator must be gray. Refer to the section “6.1 Split type and non-split type neutral
electrodes and CQM” on page 44.
If the indicator is red, green or gray although no neutral electrode is attached, there is a
malfunction of the electrosurgical generator. In this case, do not use this electrosurgical
generator.
