Additional modes within Olympus instruments
Special Olympus instruments, e.g. the POWERSEAL instruments, enable additional
modes. When such an instrument is connected to the UNIVERSAL socket, the ESG-410
automatically recognizes the instrument, and the modes and settings are accessible.
All required mode information of such instruments can be found in the corresponding
instrument’s instructions for use.
7.4 Description of modes
The following descriptions comply with the requirements of the standard IEC 60601-2-2.
1)
The crest factor is specied at rated load.
2)
The power level is the continuous power (W) which can be applied during the activation
of the electrosurgical generator. The actual applied power depends on the tissue
characteristics, e.g. resistance.
7.4.1 Description of the bipolar cutting modes
BipolarCut
Fast cutting with small coagulation zone. High Power Cut Support (HPCS) enables fast start
of cutting.
