8.5 Automatic instrument recognition
For UNIVERSAL sockets
Instruments that are connected to a UNIVERSAL socket are equipped with automatic
instrument recognition. This function includes that appropriate output settings are set
automatically. Depending on the connected instrument, the user is able to adapt these
automatic settings within a restricted range.
Detailed information can be found in the corresponding instructions for use of the
instrument.
8.5.1 The Seal mode for Olympus POWERSEAL instruments
This mode is available only when a corresponding Olympus POWERSEAL instrument
is connected to the UNIVERSAL socket. The set screen for the Seal mode is congured
differently compared to other modes.
For the POWERSEAL instruments there are no cutting modes available. All cutting
modes are set to [Off] automatically.
The Seal mode is selected automatically.
There are only 2 options for the power level: [1] or [--]
Effect level settings are not available.
Messages regarding incomplete seal cycle
If a condition for an information message regarding an incomplete seal occurs, then the
following takes place automatically:
A 4-tone sequence sounds, indicating the incomplete seal.
The output of HF current immediately stops.
