When the parking brake is engaged in position "B" and the starter switch is turned to
"LOCK" the security system is activated, which disallows the disengagement of the
parking brake.
To disengage it, turn the starter switch to position "OFF" or "ON". If the switch is set
to position "LOCK" it is still possible to engage the parking brake.
WARNING
WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPS UPHILL ON A STEEP ROAD, IT IS ADVISABLE TO
USE THE STAND.
IF THE STEEP ROAD IS INSTEAD A SIDE SLOPE, THE STAND CANNOT BE
USED AND THE SUSPENSION LOCK RESOLVES THE PROBLEM.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO USE NORMAL PRECAUTIONS WHEN ONE STOPS ON A
STEEP ROAD: TURN THE WHEELS SO THAT IF THE VEHICLE SHOULD MOVE,
THE WHEELS WILL TOUCH THE SIDEWALK. WITH THE STEERING LOCK ON,
THE SIDEWALK SHOULD BE TO THE RIGHT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN UPHILL
AND TO THE LEFT WHEN PARKED DOWNHILL.

Integral pedal braking system (03_44)
The vehicle is equipped with an integral, pedal-operated braking system «A» mounted
on the right-hand foot rest platform. When the rider presses this pedal it produces an
integral type braking effect that acts on both the front and rear brake discs.
Vehicle deceleration may be governed either by the pedal-operated braking system
or the combined action of the two manual controls. Maximum braking performance is
obtained by using the manual controls.
