INSPECTION
Inspect the removed parts for the following abnormalities. If any
abnormal points are found, replace the respective parts with
new ones.
* Bearing race wear or damage
* Bearing wear or damage
* Abnormal bearing noise
* Distortion of steering stem
• Remove the steering stem lower inner race 1 and lower seal
2 using a chisel.
• Remove the steering stem upper and lower bearing races
using the special tools.
09941-54911: Bearing outer race remover
09941-74911: Steering race installer
* Unless corrosion, damage or other abnormal condi-
tion is found, the bearing race need not be replaced.
* Once the lower inner race has been removed,
replace it with a new one.
