MAINTENANCE
4. Prime the engine using the priming
bulb (see page 72). Check for fuel
leaks. Repair any fuel leaks if
necessary.
If loss of power or hard starting is
found caused by excessive water or
sediment accumulated in the fuel
filter, inspect the fuel tank. Clean the
fuel tank if necessary.

Cleaning interval:
Every year or after every 200 hours of
outboard motor operation.
<Fuel Tank Cleaning>
Gasoline is extremely flammable,
and gasoline vapor can explode,
causing serious injury or death. Do
not smoke or allow flames or
sparks in your working area.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF
CHILDREN.
Always work in a well-ventilated
area.
Be sure that any fuel drained
from the fuel tank is stored in a
safe container.
Be careful not to spill fuel when
cleaning the tank and filter.
Spilled fuel or fuel vapor may
ignite. If any fuel is spilled, make
sure the area is dry before
starting the engine.
