4. Add oil while checking the oil level
with the dipstick attached to the
ller plug. (Refer to the instructions
for the lubrication system in Chap-
ter Maintenance.)
5. After adding oil, fit the filler plug
again.
6. Wait for 15 minutes and check the
oil level again. If the amount is in-
sufcient, add more oil.

ADJUSTING BRAKE PEDAL (O)
Prolonged use of the brake pedal
increases its free play. This free play
deteriorates the brake performan-
ce and can cause a problem to the
brake system.
The brake pedal can be adjusted as
follows:
1. Release the parking brake.
2. Depress the right brake pedal sli-
ghtly until some resistance is felt.
Then, measure the free play from
the top of the pedal.

3. When adjustments are needed,
loosen the locking nut and turn the
turn buckle until the rod length is
at the desired and acceptable limit.

5. Repeat the same procedure for the
left brake pedal and measure its
free play.
6. Interlock the brake pedals after
checking or adjusting them.

0.8~ 1.2 in. (20 ~ 30 mm)
CAUTION
Stop the engine and chock the
wheels before checking brake
pedal.
Keep the free play in the right
and left brake pedals equal.
