24 Maintenance
24.1 Maintenance Introduction
The equipment must be maintained to be ready for immediate use. To ensure proper performance of the
equipment, you should strictly perform the maintenance in this chapter. After the equipment has been used for
12 months, or whenever the equipment is repaired or upgraded, a thorough inspection should be performed to
ensure the reliability.
Make sure to clean and disinfect the equipment before any test and maintenance.
In case of any damage or abnormality, remove the equipment from use. Contact the hospital’s biomedical
engineers or your service personnel immediately.
24.2 Maintenance Safety Information
• Failure for the responsible individual, hospital or institution employing this equipment to
implement a satisfactory maintenance schedule may cause undue equipment failure and possible
health hazards.
• The safety checks or maintenance involving any disassembly of the equipment should be performed
by professional servicing personnel. Otherwise, undue equipment failure and possible health
hazards could result.
• If you find a problem with any of the equipment, contact your service personnel or the
manufacturer.
• No modification of this equipment is allowed.
• The service personnel must be properly qualified and thoroughly familiar with the operation of the
equipment.
• Do not open the equipment housings. All servicing and future upgrades must be carried out by the
service personnel.
• Do not touch, connect or apply any electrode pads and paddles during user test and auto test.
Otherwise, electric shock could result.
24.3 Routine Maintenance
The routine maintenance should be periodically performed in conjunction with the assurance program of the
hospital where the equipment is used. The following test are recommended:
