Rear Track Shock Service
1. Raise the snowmobile off the ground with a
snowmobile lift.
NOTE: Lifting at the bumper will compress the RTS.
2. Remove the seat assembly.
3. Remove the nut holding the fuel tank to the x-brace.
4. Remove the nut securing the shock to the rear crank.
5. Carefully lift up the rear of the fuel tank to access the
sh
ock fasteners. Prop the tank with a block of wood.
6. Remove the shock. To remove spring, turn preload
kno
b counter-clockwise. Remove spring retainer, and
then spring.
7. To remove the reservoir, remove the two clamp
screws. No
te the orientation of the reservoir hose.
Route the hose as shown during installation.
8. Assembly is the reverse of removal. Torque fast
eners
to specification using new lock nuts.
Rear Track Shock Fasteners: 33 ft-lbs (45 Nm)
Reservoir Clamp Screws: 17 ft-lbs (23 Nm)
Fuel Tank Screw: 7 ft-lbs (10 Nm)
Seat Screws” 7 ft-lbs (10 Nm)
