MASTER CYLINDER REASSEMBLY AND
REMOUNTING
Reassemb le and rem ou nt the master cy linder in the reverse or-
der of removal and disassembly. P ay special att en tion to the fo l-
lowi ng point s:
[A CAUTION ]
* Wash the master cylinder components with new
brake fluid before reassembly.
* Do not wipe the brake fluid off after washing the com-
ponents.
* When washing the components, use the specified
brake fluid . Never use different types of fluid or clean-
ing solvents such as gasoline , kerosine, etc.
* Apply brake fluid to the master cylinder bore and all
of the master cy l inder components before reassem-
bly .

• Tighten the master cy linder mounting bo lt s CD, br ake rod lock-
nut (g), and brake hose union bolt to the specified torque.
(I) Master cylinder mounting bolt :
10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m , 7.0 Ib-ft)
Brake rod locknut: 18 N·m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 Ib-ft)
Brake
hose union bolt: 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 Ib-ft)
LA. CAUTION I
Bleed air from the brake system after reassembling the
master cylinder.
