1D-10 Engine Mechanical:
• After finishing the engine installation, check the
following items:
– Throttle cable play
Refer to “Throttle Cable Play Inspection and
Adjustment in Section 0B (Page 0B-13)”.
– Rear brake cable play
Refer to “Rear Brake Pedal / Rear Brake (Parking
Brake) Lever Inspection and Adjustment in Section
0B (Page 0B-16)”.
– Parking Brake cable play
Refer to “Rear Brake Pedal / Rear Brake (Parking
Brake) Lever Inspection and Adjustment in Section
0B (Page 0B-16)”.
Engine Top Side Disassembly

It is unnecessary to remove the engine assembly from
the frame when servicing the engine top side.
CAUTION
!
Identify the position of each removed part.
Organize the parts in their respective groups
(e.g., intake, exhaust) so that they can be
reinstalled in their original positions.
Spark Plug
1) Remove the spark plug.
Special tool
: 09930–10121 (Spark plug wrench set)
Cam Chain Tension Adjuster
1) Remove the spring holder bolt (1) and spring.
2) Remove the O-ring, cam chain tension adjuster (2)
and gasket (3).
Recoil Starter
1) Remove the recoil starter assembly (1).
2) Remove the TDC plug (2).
3) Turn the crankshaft and align the “TDC” line “A” on
the generator rotor with the index mark “B” on the
crankcase.
