3 1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Disconnect the TP sensor coupler.
3) Connect the test harness to the TP sensor.
4) Check the continuity between terminal “C” and ground.
Special tool
(A): 09900–25008 (Multi-circuit tester set)
(C): 09900–28630 (TPS test wire harness)
TP sensor continuity
(Infinity) (Terminal “C” – Ground)
5) If OK, then measure the TP sensor resistance at the test
harness terminals (between terminal “C” and terminal
“D”).
6) Turn the throttle grip and measure the resistance.
TP sensor resistance
Throttle valve is closed: Approx. 1.1 k
Throttle valve is opened: Approx. 4.3 k
Go to Step 3. Reset the TP sensor
position correctly.
Replace the TP
sensor with a new
one.
