2.1 General considerations
General safety instructions
• Before operating t his equipm ent please read this manual thoroughly and retain it for future reference.
• Installation and preliminary a djustments should b e performed by qualified B arco pers onnel or by authorized B arco service deal-
ers.
• All warnings on the projector and in the documentation manuals should be adhered to.
• All instructions for oper ating and use of this equipment must be followed precisely.
• All local installation codes s hould be adhered to.
Notice on electrical safety
This equ ipment is built in acco rdance with the requirements o f the international safety standards IEC60950 -1, EN60950-1,
UL60950-1 and CAN/CSA C22.2 N o.60950-1, which are the safety standards of information technology equipment including
electrical business equipment. These s afety standards impose im portant requirements on the use of safet
y critical co mponents,
materials and insulation, in order to protect the user or operator against risk of electric shock and energy hazard and ha ving access
to live parts. Safety standards also impose limits to the internal and external temperature rises, radiation levels, mec hanical stability
and strength, e nclosure construction and protection against the risk of fire. Sim ulated single fau
lt condition testing ensures the
safety of the equipment to the user even whe n the equipment’s normal operation fails.
Users definition
Throughout this manual, the terms SERVICE PERS ONNEL and TR AINED PROJECTIONIST refers to persons having appropriate
technical training and experience necessary to be knowledgeable of potential ha zards to which they are exposed (including, but not
limited to HIGH V OLTAGE ELECTRIC and E LECTRONIC CIRCUITRY and HIGH BRIGH TNESS PROJECTORS) in performing a
task, and of m easur es to minimize the potential risk to themselves or other persons. The term USER and O PE RATOR refers to
any person other than SERVIC E PERS ON NEL or TRAIN ED P RO JECTION ISTS, AUTHO RIZED to operate professional projection
system s.
The TRA INED PRO JE CTIONIST S m ay only perform the maintenance task described in the User & Installation manual. All other
maintenance tasks and service t asks must be performed by qualified SERVICE P ER S O NNEL.

hazards as sociated with high v oltage, high intensity light beams, ultraviolet exposure and high temperatures ge nerated by the lam p
and ass ociated circuits. Only qualified SERVIC E PERS ONNEL a nd TR AINED PRO JECT IONISTS, know ledgeable of s uch risks,
are allowed to perform service functions inside the product en closure.
