3. Getting started
3.1 Installation requirements
Environment conditions
Table below summarizes th e ph ysical environment in which the DP 2K-E series projector may be safely operated or stored.
Environment Operating Non-Operating
Ambient Tempe rature 10°C (50°F) to 35°C (95°F) -20°C (-4°F) to 60°C (140°F)
Air c leanliness Clean office environment (equivalent with cleanroom
standard ISO 1 4644-1 ISO Class 9)
n.a.
Humidity
0% to 85% R H Non-condensed 0% to 93% RH Non-Condensed
Altitude
-60 (-197Ft) to 2000m (984 3Ft) -60 (-197Ft) to 10000m (32810 Ft)
Let the projector ac climatize after unpacking. Neg lecting this may result in a startup failure of the Light P ro-
cessor U nit.
Cooling requirements
The projector is fan cooled and m ust be installed with sufficient space around the projector head, minimum 20 cm (8 inch) to ensure
sufficient air flow. It should be used in an area w here the am bient temperature, as m easured at the projector air inlet, does not
exceed 35°C ( 95°F).
Main Power requirements
The DP2K -E series projector operates from a nominal m ono phase power net with a separate earth ground PE.
Projector Power requirements
DP2K-6E
200-240 VAC, 50-60Hz, 6,25A at 200 VA C
The power cord required to connect the projector with the power n et is not delivered with the projector. I t is the res ponsibility of the
customer to pr ovide the correct type of power cord. The c ross-sectional ar ea of the conductors in the power supply cord shall not
be less than 1mm
2
(18AWG), minimu m 300V.
To protect operating personnel, the N ational Electrical M anufacturers A ssociation (NEMA) recommends that the instrument panel
and cabinet be grounded. In no event shall this projector be operated without an adequa te ca binet ground c onnection.
The AC supply must be installed by a qualified e lectrician in conformance to local codes . Hardware, wire sizes and conduit t ypes
must c omply with local codes.
A readily accessible disconnect device shall be inco
rporated externally to the equipment for removal of the power.
UPS re quirements
The Uninterruptible Power Supply (UP S), also known as a Continuous Power S upply (CP S), mus t have an output voltage of 200-
240V at 50-60Hz and must be capable of delivering an output power of 250W. This UP S provides only power for the electronics and
lamp coo ling, but not for t he lamp.
The connection between the UPS unit and the UPS inlet of the projector must be done with a certified AC p ower s upply c ord of
minimum 0,75 mm² or 1 8 AWG and minimum 300V.
WARNING: Disconnect the power cord f or removal of all pow er from the u nit.
The DP2K-E series projector does not have a built in UPS unit.
Projector weight
Do not unde restimate the weight of the DP2K-E s eries projector. The projector w eights approximately 53 kg (116.8 lb.) without lens.
Ensure that th e pedestal on which the projector is installed is capable of supporting the complete load of the system. M inimum 4
adult persons are needed to carry the projector.
