1 Connect the nurse call cable on the left
side panel of the Vivo 65.
2 Test the connection by triggering an alarm on the Vivo 65 and verify that the nurse call
system activates.
5.8.3 Using the Vivo 65 with the FiO
2
Sensor
The FiO
2
sensor can be connected to the Vivo 65 in order to monitor and store FiO
2
meas-
urements. The FiO
2
sensor measures the fraction of inspired oxygen at the air outlet of the
Vivo 65. The FiO
2
measurements will be stored in the data memory which can be down-
loaded to a PC and viewed in the Vivo 65 PC software.
The FiO
2
sensor is not intended to be in contact with the patient’s body.
The FiO
2
sensor should be calibrated when first connected and then at least once a month.
NOTE
FiO
2
calibration can be performed by a clinician.
CAUTION!
Note that the operating conditions for the FiO
2
sensor is different from the ventilator
system conditions. If the sensor is used outside its operating conditions the FiO
2
meas-
urements might deviate.
NOTE
The FiO
2
monitoring automatically compensates for changes in ambient barometric
pressure.
