Read this manual thoroughly so that you completely understand how the Vivo 65 is oper-
ated and maintained before taking it into use, to ensure correct usage, maximum per-
formance and serviceability. Non-professional caregivers (e.g. family members) should
consult the medical equipment provider’s respiratory therapist if they have any questions
about the function, proper use, operation, service or maintenance of the Vivo 65.

1.1 What is the Vivo 65?
The Vivo 65 is a pressure and volume ventilator capable of delivering continuous or inter-
mittent ventilatory support for patients who require invasive or non-invasive mechanical
ventilation.
The Vivo 65 can be operated in 13 different combinations of ventilation and breath modes:
• PSV – Pressure Support Ventilation
• PSV(TgV) – Pressure Support Ventilation with Target Volume
• PCV – Pressure Controlled Ventilation
• PCV(TgV) – Pressure Controlled Ventilation with Target Volume
• PCV(A) – Assisted Pressure Controlled Ventilation
• PCV(A+TgV) – Assisted Pressure Controlled Ventilation with Target Volume
• PCV-SIMV – Pressure Controlled Ventilation with Synchronized Intermittent Manda-
tory Ventilation
• PCV-MPV – Pressure Controlled Ventilation with MouthPiece Ventilation
• VCV – Volume Controlled Ventilation
• VCV(A) – Assisted Volume Controlled Ventilation
• VCV-SIMV – Volume Controlled Ventilation with Synchronized Intermittent Manda-
tory Ventilation
• VCV-MPV – Volume Controlled Ventilation with MouthPiece Ventilation
• CPAP – Continuous Positive Airway Pressure
