Changing the Ink Collection Sponge
WARNING: Eye protection and gloves should be worn.
If the box guidance option is being used with the unit, the only maintenance
required for this component is to keep it clean and change the sponge. Change the
sponge when it is starting to look saturated with ink, as follows:
(1) Remove the box guide by removing the
securing bolts.
(2) Dismount the box guide by pulling it
forward.
(3) Remove the perforated covers on either side
of the rail as shown.
(4) Using a pair of pliers, pull the sponge slowly
from the trough to minimise mess and ink
splash. The saturated sponge should be
discarded in accordance with local authority
regulations.
