b) Tappet & push rod
z By means of outside
micrometer, measure the
clearance of the tappet and
tappet holes of the cylinder
block. If the value is beyond the
specified limit, replace tappets.
Standard
φ19.944 ∼ φ19.965 mm

Standard Limit
0.035 ∼ 0.077 mm
0.13 mm
z By inspecting the tappet
surface that contacts with the
camshaft's cam for any crack
and scratch etc., and if the
degree is small, correct them
with an oil stone or the grinding
paper but if severe replace
them.
z Place the push rod on the
surface plate and rolling it,
Inspect the curving degree with
a clearance gauge and if
abnormal, replace it.
< Run-out >
Limit 0.3 mm or less
3) Rocker arm reassembling
z Inspect the oil passages of rocker arm and rocker arm bracket for any
clogs and reassemble them in the reverse order of disassembling after
thorough cleaning.
