3 Using Your Machine
Unsupported Paper
Do not use the following types of paper. Doing so may cause paper jams or malfunctions, affect the image quality,
and damage the equipment.

Inkjet Paper

Heat sensitive paper/heat transfer paper

Textile transfer paper

Water transfer paper

Paper with a staple, clip, ribbon, or tape, etc.

Envelopes with window

Envelopes with an uneven surface or a clasp

Paper with special coating on the surface

Paper whose surface is not smooch such as coarse paper and fibrous paper

Paper with ink that changes due to heat when adhered

Storing and Handling Paper
Storing paper

Store print media in a cabinet or a place with low humidity. Print media containing moisture may cause paper
jams or print quality problems.

When the print media package is opened but not used up, store unused print media in the wrapping paper.

Store print media on a flat surface so that the edges do not buckle or curl.

Store print media in places not exposed to direct sunlight.
Handling paper

Straighten the edges of the print media stack before loading.

Do not load multiple sizes of paper at the same time.

Flex and fan label sheets before loading, otherwise a paper jam may occur or multiple sheets may be fed at a
time.
