In order to obtain the best results when using Bluetooth® wireless technology it is important to
correctly position the base unit of the ADTS in a reliable coverage area with respect to the
aircraft.
Figure 3-42 gives an example of good base unit positioning, which should be:
• forward of a line level with the cockpit window
• a minimum of 1 m away from the fuselage edge
• a maximum of 8 m out from the nose wheel
• a position the top edge of the base unit nearest to the aircraft with the output ports facing
upwards.
