Switch off the engine and
ignition. Turn the ignition key to
LOCK (0), remove it and turn the
steering wheel until the steering
wheel lock is felt to engage.
For vehicles with automatic
transmission, move the shift
lever to P position before
removing the key.

If the vehicle is on a level
surface or uphill gradient,
engage first gear or set the shift
lever to P before switching off
the ignition. On an uphill
gradient, turn the front wheels
away from the curb.
If the vehicle is on a downhill
gradient, engage reverse gear or
set the shift lever to P before
switching off the ignition. Turn
the front wheels towards
the curb.

Close the windows.

Lock the vehicle.

After running at high engine
speeds or with high engine
loads, operate the engine briefly
at a low load or run in neutral for
about 1 to 2 minutes at idle
speed before switching off in
order to protect the turbocharger.

Before switching off, do not
accelerate the engine.

Warning
Do not park the vehicle on a
flammable surface. The high
temperature of the exhaust
system could ignite the surface.

Getting Started
Check Before Starting

Check that the windows, mirrors
and lamps are clean.

Visually check tyre inflation.
Check the tyre pressures
weekly.

Ensure that all doors are closed
and secured.

Position your seat for
comfortable driving.
.
Adjust the rear view mirrors.
.
Fasten the seat belts.
.
Check that the warning
indicators illuminate when
turning the ignition on and go off
after several seconds.

Caution
Use the correct key, make sure it
is all the way in — or pushed in
toward the steering column when
turning the engine off — and turn
it only with your hand.
