2. Draining the fuel filter by draining
the water separator
If the water-separator filled-up indicator lights up and
the
error code “E:9120” appears on the meter panel,
immediately take the steps in this section to drain the
fuel filter after stopping the engine.
(1) Water separator filled-up in-
dicator
(2) Error code
IMPORTANT :
• If
you do not drain the fuel filter immediately
after the alarm, the engine may be seriously
damaged.
• Without the fuel filter drained, the cleaning
efficiency of the DPF (6000 hours) will be
reduced and the DPF longevity will be shorter
than expected.
1. Close the shutoff-valve on the water separator.
2. Remove the drain bolt.
Take much care not to lose the drain bolt.
3. Open the shutoff-valve on the water separator.
4. After draining the water completely, close the
shutoff-valve on the water separator.
5. Attach the drain bolt.
6. Open the shutoff-valve on the water separator.

(3) Fuel filter (4) Drain bolt
IMPORTANT :
• After
draining the fuel filter, drain the water
separator as soon as possible.
3. Bleeding the fuel system
WARNING
T
o avoid personal injury or death:
• Keep sparks and flames away from the fuel, or
serious personal injury may result.
After the fuel tank has been run on empty or
maintenance
and service work has been performed,
you cannot start the engine again after refueling. This is
because air has entered the fuel system. It is
necessary to bleed the fuel system in the procedure in
this section.
Also after replacing the fuel filter, bleed the fuel system.
1. Fill the fuel tank with fuel.
