2. Handling points for DPF
regeneration
Fuel
Be sure to use the ultra-low sulfur fuel (S15).
IMPORT
ANT :
• According to the following temperatures, use
the proper fuel as follows.
Temperatures Fuel
Over -5 ℃ No.2-D diesel fuel
Under -5 ℃ No.1-D diesel fuel.
• Use of diesel fuel other than ultra-low sulfur fuel
may adversely affect the engine and DPF
performance.
Use of fuels other than ultra-low sulfur fuel
(S15) may not meet regulations for your region.
Engine oil
Use
the DPF-compatible oil (CJ-4 or CK-4) for the
engine.
IMPORTANT :
• If any engine oil other than CJ-4 or CK-4 is
used, the DPF may become clogged earlier than
expected and the fuel economy may drop.
3. DPF regeneration process
DPF regeneration system owns “Parked
Regeneration”
in which the DPF regenerates while the machine is
parked and “Automatic Regeneration” which the DPF
can regenerate automatically while working.
When key switch is turned [RUN], the machine will be
in the “Auto Regeneration Mode”. By pressing the DPF
switch, the mode can be switched to the “Inhibit Mode”
or “Parked Regeneration Mode”.
Choose from regeneration modes according to your job
condition, usage environment, and other factors.

Auto Regeneration Mode
The
machine has been set to “Auto Regeneration
Mode” by default.
When an amount of PM more than specified has built
up in the DPF muffler, the DPF is automatically
regenerated whether the machine is in motion or
parked.
For jobs not affected by hot gases emitted out of the
DPF muffler during regeneration, the “Auto
Regeneration Mode” is advisable.
Parked Regeneration Mode
When an amount of PM more than specified has built
up in the DPF, the regeneration indicator starts flashing
to notify the operator that regeneration is required.
Therefore, park the machine in a safe place and start
the regeneration.
Inhibit Mode
Press the inhibit side of the DPF switch and the inhibit
mode is activated.
Even if an amount of PM more than specified has built
up in the DPF muffler, the DPF does not regenerate.
When the regeneration is needed, the regeneration
indicator starts flashing to notify the operator either to
active “Auto Regeneration Mode” or to conduct a
“Parked Regeneration Mode”, once in a safe area.
For jobs that are performed in the following areas, the
“Inhibit Mode” is recommended.
• Poorly ventilated area
• Area that may affect plants and animals because of
hot gases that will be emitted
